greater service to the donors and friends with whom they work. This is tough stuff. (See photo for proof.) But so engaging and relevant. I’ll finish by November of this year and will be able to add CAP to my credentials of M.A.

Volunteerism

I like to keep one foot in the nonprofit world through meaningful volunteer work. As such, I serve on a few local boards, including Grundy-Three Rivers Habitat for Humanity here in Morris. I got my professional start in the nonprofit sector working for this organization in the Quad Cities, and though I left that position when we made the move in 2009, Habitat has kept a hold on my heart.

I’ll write about my struggle to do what I can with what I have where I am as chapter president and aspiring civic leader while maintaining life as a busy, full-time professional, wife and accessible family member.

While we are young and still very much in the “accumulation” stage of life, Phil and I believe in giving back through our time, treasure and talent. We are fortunate to be surrounded by other friends who believe in the same.
